We collect only what we need to get your order to you, and we don't sell it, share it for advertising, or track you around the web.
Who we are
GameShelf is a small business in Riverview, New Brunswick, Canada. We're responsible for the personal information collected on this site. Questions go to nick@gameshelf.games.
What we collect
When you place an order: your name, email address, shipping address, phone number if you give one, and what you bought and paid.
Card details are entered on a secure payment page run by Stripe. They never reach us — we only hear back that the payment went through.
When you use the contact form: your name, email address, order number if you give one, and your message.
While you browse: one cookie keeps your basket, your currency choice and your checkout details while you shop, and another protects our forms against misuse. They expire after 30 days of inactivity. We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and no third-party trackers load on this site. Like any website, our server keeps standard access logs, such as IP addresses and pages requested, for security and troubleshooting.
How we use it
- to make, pack and deliver your order;
- to send your receipt, shipping updates, and replies to your messages;
- to handle returns, refunds and problems with an order;
- to keep the business and tax records the law requires.
We only email you about your order, or in reply to you.
Who we share it with
Only the services needed to run the shop, and only what each one needs:
- Stripe, to take your payment;
- Canada Post or another carrier, and customs for orders outside Canada, to deliver your parcel;
- our email provider, to send order emails;
- our web host and storage providers, who keep the site and its data running.
Some of these providers store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible under that country's laws. We never sell personal information.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for six years, as the Canada Revenue Agency requires of business records. Contact messages are kept only as long as we need them to help you.
Your choices
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete anything we aren't required to keep. Email nick@gameshelf.games and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with how we've handled your information, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Changes
If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
